How to Use the Search Function

Use the GA4 search function to quickly find answers, navigate to important pages, and access help content.

  1. Step 1: Open the search box in the GA4 interface.

    Click within the search box at the top of the interface to activate search.

  2. Step 2: Enter your query or select from recent activity.

    Find instant answers to your queries, insights, admin pages, and reports. You can also use search to manage accounts and properties and to access help content. When you click in the search box, you can view recent searches and reports you have accessed.

How to Access Additional Products, Seek Assistance, and Manage Accounts

Use the options in the top-right corner of the GA4 interface to switch products, get help, take guided tours, provide feedback, and manage your Google Account.

  1. Step 1: Open options in the top-right corner.

    At the top-right corner of the Analytics interface, you will find options that allow you to:

    • Switch between Google Marketing Platform products

    • Access further assistance

    • Initiate an in-product guided tour

How to Navigate Reports, Explorations, Advertising, and Admin Sections

Use the left navigation pane in GA4 to move between Home, Reports, Explore, Advertising, and Admin sections.

  1. Step 1: Open the left navigation pane.

    Locate the navigation pane on the left side of the GA4 interface.

  2. Step 2: Use the available navigation links.

    The left navigation pane offers links to:

    • Home: Discover tailored information based on your interactions within Analytics.

    • Reports: Track website traffic, analyze data, and gain insights into user behavior and interactions.

    • Explore: Analyze your data using various advanced techniques that go beyond standard reports to uncover deeper insights into your customers' behavior.

    • Advertising: Get better insights into the return on investment (ROI) of your media expenditure across all channels, make informed decisions regarding budget allocation, and assess attribution models effectively.

    • Admin: Access Analytics administrative features.

How to Switch Between Accounts and Properties

Use the account and property switcher to move between different Analytics accounts and properties you have access to.

  1. Step 1: Open the account and property menu.

    At the top-left corner of the Analytics interface, you will find a menu that allows you to switch between all the Analytics accounts and properties for which you have permission.

  2. Step 2: Select the desired account or property.

    Choose the account or property you want to work with from the list displayed in the menu.
