Meta Ads Campaign Setup

Meta campaigns built with the event layer first. Conversions API, deduplication, and match quality sorted before a single ad goes live, then structure and creative built on top.

What's included

Event layer

  • Pixel and Conversions API setup with server-side deployment where your stack supports it
  • Deduplication between browser and server events using consistent event_id pairs
  • Customer parameter coverage and hashing, with Event Match Quality checked per event
  • Standard event mapping across your funnel
  • Aggregated Event Measurement configuration and event priority order
  • Domain verification and consent handling

Account structure

  • Campaign objective chosen for the outcome you want rather than the one that produces the nicest number
  • Structure built around your weekly conversion volume, since Meta needs about fifty per ad set to leave learning
  • Advantage+ decisions made explicitly, including what the automation is allowed to spend on
  • Audience strategy across broad, interest, lookalike, and custom audiences with overlap checked
  • Exclusions so prospecting and retargeting stop bidding against each other
  • Budget structure at campaign or ad set level with the reasoning documented

Creative

  • Creative brief covering angles, hooks, and formats worth testing
  • Ad copy written per angle rather than one message resized
  • Placement-specific asset requirements
  • Testing structure that produces a readable result at your volume, which sometimes means fewer variants than you'd like

Launch

  • Naming conventions and UTM parameters set consistently
  • Conversion and attribution window settings matched to your sales cycle
  • Two weeks of monitoring covering delivery, frequency, and learning phase status
  • Handover with what to change first and what to leave alone

Why it matters

Meta accounts usually fail at the event layer rather than the creative layer. A duplicate purchase event, a low match rate, or an optimization event firing on page load, and the algorithm spends your budget confidently finding the wrong people. No creative fixes that.

Structure is the second trap. Splitting into eight ad sets feels like control and produces eight ad sets that never leave learning. Consolidating hurts less than it looks like it should, and the results get readable faster.
