Google Shopping Campaign Setup
Merchant Center and Shopping campaigns built together, since feed quality decides Shopping performance more than bidding does. Includes feed optimization, custom labels, and campaign structure.
What's included
Merchant Center
- Account setup, verification, and claiming
- Feed connection through your platform, a feed tool, or scheduled fetch
- Diagnostics cleared with each disapproval explained rather than just fixed
- Automatic item updates and price and availability sync
- Free listings and local inventory where they apply
- Policy review before launch, since suspensions are painful to unwind
Feed optimization
- Title structure built around the queries your products should show for
- Product type and Google category assignment
- GTIN, MPN, and brand coverage
- Image quality and promotional overlay compliance
- Supplemental feeds for attributes your platform won't export
- Custom labels for margin, seasonality, bestseller status, and price tier
Campaign structure
- Standard Shopping and Performance Max decided per catalogue rather than by default
- Segmentation by custom label so high margin products don't bid the same as clearance
- Priority and budget structure across campaigns
- Brand query handling, including whether PMax is allowed near it
- Negative keyword strategy where the campaign type allows it
- Bidding approach chosen for your conversion volume
Tracking
- Purchase conversion tracking with item-level parameters
- Deduplication on transaction_id
- Item ID consistency across GA4, the feed, and the ad platforms
- Reconciliation against store revenue
Why it matters
Shopping performance is decided in the feed. Titles leading with your brand instead of the product, missing GTINs limiting eligibility, one disapproved variant dragging a product group down, and no custom labels so a clearance item bids like a bestseller.
Structure is the second lever. Without segmentation, budget flows to whatever gets clicks, which in most catalogues means a small group of cheap high-volume products absorbing spend while your margin lives elsewhere. Custom labels are how you fix that, and they have to exist in the feed before the campaign can use them.
